About us

Why Do We Exist?

To empower individuals, businesses, and the next generation to combat climate change, ensuring a sustainable future for all.

The Earth is facing a climate crisis. Dramatic weather events, species extinction, drought, and famine are causing millions of people to be displaced. We believe that the first step to combat climate change is by educating individuals, of all ages and backgrounds, on what they can do to prevent it. We all need to take responsibility now and ask ourselves what kind of world we will leave for the next generation.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple, yet profound. We aim to provide a platform to enable businesses to reduce their carbon footprint while raising climate awareness in the workplace. We’re not just about reducing carbon emissions, but about why we do it – to create a sustainable future for all.

One Earth Education is working on several fronts to achieve this:

  • Educate people about climate issues specific to them.
  • Help businesses reduce their emissions through behavioural change and carbon offsetting.
  • Enable local governments to meet carbon reduction goals.
  • Advocate for effective climate policies at the national and international levels and inspire positive action among others who want to make a difference.

The Need for UK Businesses to Adapt

The business landscape in the UK is rapidly changing. According to the UK’s Climate Change Committee, the cost of the UK’s net-zero carbon target will be £50 billion per year by 2050. However, this cost is significantly lower than the potential costs of unchecked climate change. Moreover, transitioning to a low-carbon economy could yield a net increase of 2 million jobs in the UK.

Beyond these financial and employment opportunities, there are several other reasons why businesses need to adapt:

  • Risk Management: Climate change poses significant risks to businesses, from physical risks due to extreme weather events to transition risks as the economy becomes less dependent on fossil fuels. By taking proactive steps towards sustainability, businesses can manage these risks effectively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Governments worldwide are implementing stricter regulations to combat climate change. Businesses that adapt now will be better prepared to comply with these regulations.
  • Reputation and Brand Value: Consumers increasingly support businesses that align with their values. By demonstrating a commitment to sustainability, businesses can enhance their reputation and brand value.
  • Innovation and Competitive Advantage: Transitioning to a low-carbon economy will require new technologies and business models. Businesses that lead in these areas will gain a competitive advantage.

Businesses that adapt to these changes and take proactive steps towards sustainability will reduce their risk and seize new opportunities. They can improve their reputation, comply with increasing regulations, attract environmentally conscious customers, and even achieve cost savings.

Our Offer

We offer a simple, affordable way for businesses to reduce their emissions, cut costs, improve their ESG rating, and alter employee behaviour to reduce their footprint in the workplace.

We approach improving sustainability differently and believe in solutions that fit you, not the other way around.

There are many, generic, off-the-shelf carbon awareness courses on the market. Still, few tackle the challenges each industry faces in combating climate change.

Someone working in construction encounters different challenges trying to reduce their carbon emissions compared to someone who works in fashion.

For this reason, we partnered with Liverpool John Moores University to design a suite of industry-specific climate awareness courses that address specific sectors’ issues.

Each CPD-accredited course makes delegates accountable for their carbon footprint in work and explains:

  • The leading causes of emissions within their industry
  • What is being done to reduce the industry’s emissions
  • What can they do to drive down emissions whilst working
  • How to act sustainably while cutting costs at work.

The courses range in difficulty level from basic to advanced and allow learners to develop their carbon literacy, increasing their skill set to enhance their careers.

Our ability to design custom-built climate awareness courses allows us to work closely with businesses and easily communicate your decarbonisation goals and success stories throughout your workforce.

Climate Kids Academy

We believe in empowering the next generation to face the reality of our changing climate. That’s why we’ve developed the Climate Kids Academy in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University’s Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory.

This innovative program not only educates but also engages children in the journey towards a sustainable future. We calculate your school’s emissions footprint, improve climate awareness for both pupils and staff, and involve the children in the school’s carbon-cutting journey.

Our program is designed to improve Ofsted & Estyn performance, covering all core subjects and making sustainability accessible and relatable. It can be used to deliver both English & Welsh curriculum, as part of after-school programs, for Eco-School initiatives, and for home schooling.

Importantly, we also address climate anxiety amongst children, providing them with the knowledge and tools to make a positive impact on their world.

What is Carbon Offsetting?

A company can reduce their carbon footprint by purchasing Carbon Credits. A carbon credit is a token representing 1 ton of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere.

Worldwide, there are environmental projects which are responsible for directly removing carbon from the atmosphere, in turn generating carbon credits. These projects range from reforesting to building solar/wind farms and forest conservation.

Individuals or, more commonly, a company can buy carbon credits to make up for carbon dioxide emissions from industrial production, delivery vehicles or travel.

We have partnered with exclusive, carefully selected Carbon Offsetting organisations to provide you with the gold standard in carbon credits.
