Shipping moves around 80% of the world’s traded goods, and IMO regulation is now driving the sector toward steep emissions cuts well before 2050. Fuel transitions, vessel efficiency and port-side electrification are all moving at the same time.
The Sustainable Shipping Initiative sets out cross-industry roadmaps for what credible decarbonisation looks like. The UK’s Powering Up Britain: Net Zero Growth Plan includes maritime in its decarbonisation programme — turning ambition into national policy.
This course gives maritime teams the regulatory fluency, fuel and technology literacy and operational levers they need to navigate the transition.
